November begins!!

Sunday, November 04, 2012

So here we are starting the first full week of the month. Where has the year gone?

I sat down today to try and write out a 'menu' to follow for the week. This is HARD for me with all the unknowns. So I roughed it and will do my best to follow it. I know of at least twice I will be eating out so those days I will work at making better choices. I am thinking the crock pot may be my friend as I'm often too tired to care about cooking after working all day and then having enough to freeze for another time. Plus, I will be going through the freezer and working on using thing up. Yes, I think that is part of the plan as well.

The week ahead will be busy with deadlines at work but by the end I will have a big 'sigh' of relief. Then the next two weeks are short ones for me so I'm happy about that. I will be spending a weekend with our friend LILYGAL at a sewing retreat next weekend and the following is Thanksgiving. I've been working hard on preparing things so I can sit and sew and gab and enjoy the 'down' time. I need it.

So as the month starts, I am feeling strong again about this journey. I've gotten my veggies in all weekend which isn't easy. I've gotten exercise in but haven't 'killed' myself over it and have enjoyed some 'me' time in my sewing room.

A good weekend, a good mindset as we move on into the month and the holiday season. Hoping you all find the strength to keep at it as well. emoticon

Much to look forward to, my friend! I am looking forward to hearing about your sewing retreat and it makes me smile to think of you two ladies and the good time you will have.

My crockpot is such a lifesaver...as well as some things already prepared and frozen for a quick meal later. I only wish I had begun doing that earlier!

What would we ever do without our crockpots. They are a life saver between that an making meals that can be frozen for later.

I know you and Lilygal will have a wonderful time and I am putting Shipsee on my calendar just as soon as I get an 2013 calendar.

You deserve your me time and your retreat weekend.

This is a great plan!!! Mine is similar and I have put a lot in my freezer. We have 3 nights this week that we have "things" we are supposed to go to for the grandkids. These meals will be great for that and I'm so glad that you are getting some "me" time.

I'm so looking forward to our weekend!! We will have a great time and before you know it we'll be in Shipshe again!!!

You are an inspiration to us all and especially to me!!! emoticon

Crock pot meals are great! They require a bit of planning but when I was working they regularly saved my family from junk fast-food meals. On Sunday I would make a meal ready to take out of the fridge and let simmer in the crock pot for Monday supper - and for later in the week I'd prepare something like a stew or spaghetti sauce that could be frozen until needed. I still use my crock pot regularly, although not as often as before.

I so envy you and Lily, being able to do a sewing retreat. I hope you both have a wonderful time and look forward to hearing all about it.

emoticon Weeze - you're doing great and are an example to us all.
