The Presidential Debates Game

Wednesday, October 03, 2012

Warning: this is a temporary blog, while I continue to research and ponder more cerebral content warranting your valuable time.

The Debates start tonight. Who's planning to watch? Who's expecting to be bored? Who's watching nail-biting pennant-race baseball instead? (Me!!!!)

If you are planning to watch the debates (instead of merely reading the analyses of others online tomorrow morning, here in the internet age), this blog is for you:

Played with Sparky Water, of course!

I agree with IMAGELOVER: I watched the debates. I was at a party for President Obama and the future President Obama. Here's to another 4 years. Let's keep the Republicans out of the White House. They left a mess for Obama to clean up and fight him every inch of the way when he tries to clean it up. Eight years of Bush was 8 years toooooooo long. Let's not forgot who got Bin Laden, NOT Bush.

I watched. I'm glad someone else mentioned the smug looks...they irritate the heck out of me also. I was not impressed by either candidate and have become a little jaded. I do plan to vote, but I find it difficult---when each person gives contradictory information---to know who to believe. I have exercised the right to vote since I have been 18 and now, as I approach 50, I am a bit tired of it all. I haven't heard much about the independent candidates, but I googled it. It appears Jesse Ventura is considering it again. emoticon

Love this blog! I didn't watch. I'm tired of hearing the same rhetoric over and over again. I'm still not sure I know what either candidate has to offer. Just what the other one doesn't.

Sorry, I like to play baseball but do not enjoy watching it.
I watched the debate but unfortunately did not come across this blog in time to play! I'll have to save it for the next ones. I don't like watching the "analyses" as everyone puts their own particular spin on it.

I watched the Giants game until my husband turned on the debate, and then fell asleep because I already know who I'm voting for and because the smug and/or condescending looks were annoying me. emoticon

I'll be watching the debate. I'd rather make my own judgemnet than rely on the press.

Sadly, being from Chicago and living in Pittsburgh, there is no team left for me to root for! emoticon

I probably will not watch the debates (since DH will be watching the game) - but I definitely will NOT be getting my news from FOX - well, except for watching The Simpsons.

I will be watching the debates, but will be paying attention to the Orioles/Yankees games, since we play that division winner Boss, I hate to say it, but I am rooting for the Yankees to win, because my Tigers match up well against them, and we beat them. The Orioles would probably beat us. Of course if the Yankees lose, listening to them cry will be funny too. Plus the Tigers can't win it all, so a Tigers/Orioles matchup would be kind of fun, especially for you when the won the series..lol.

As for the debates. I think both sides will lie. Obama about his record, which is better than Bush left it, but hardly good. No President has ever been re-elected with more than 7.2% unemployment. The arguments so far have been " It could have been worse ", by Obama, and " I have no plan, but he sucks " by Romney. I am hoping that out of 90 minutes, I can learn 1-2 things about Romney's plans. I think he isn't letting us know his plans because we would hate them

In the end, it is just fun to watch because I am a political junkie. The race is over, even though they need to finish strong. Obama is way up in the electoral vote, which is how we elect President's in this republic. What the media is really messing up, is reporting national polls as if they mean anything. Obama will probably barely win in the polls, but is WAY ahead in electoral votes, with very few being swing states. He has pulled out of MI and OH, conceding them, along with 34 electoral votes, PA isn't even close, especially with voter supression removed. Romney has FL,IA,NH,CO,NV,NC,SC, and VA in play. He could win most of those, and still lose easily. Mitt will lose MI, and MA by large margins, and WI is not going to fall in for Ryan. This election was set up for a Republican to win, and Mitt has run the worst campaign ever.

Hopefully the choices are better in 2016.

Ah Sandy-Toes, we may need to agree to disagree politically.

I'll be doing neither. Not a baseball fan, and as a Canadian, am definitely not interested in the debates. I'm just waiting for them to be over so we can resume normal TV broadcasting. lol

    LOL.
I'll be watching the debate. I don't trust the media
when it comes to the topic of reporting on the race. I think every media outlet (maybe except for Fox)
is very lenient when it comes to the current (hopefully) not for long, president.
