Oh No A Back Injury!!

Fantastic this is just what I don't need right now. So last night after I got off of work I went home walked the dogs, took the trash out, gave the dogs some water and noticed they didn't have any food. So I went to the garage to get the dog food to fill up their bowls, well I get to the garage and the big tupperware box we keep full of food was empty. On the ground I saw the new bag of dog food well instead of just opening the bag and scooping some food out I decided to be helpful and refill the bin then get their food. Well this wasn't a small bag, keep in mind I'm only 5'2" and about 113 lbs. The bag was a huge 50lb bag well I thought I could open it lift the bag myself and pour it into the bin. So I squatted thought I was using proper form when lifting but boy was I wrong. I felt a quick pain from my lower right side of my back down the back of my hip and on towards my um...for lack of a better word butt. Anyways it was just a quick pain so no biggie. I continue to get ready for kickboxing class and my boyfriend comes over. While I'm getting ready the pain comes back now it just feels like I need to pop my lower back. So I try, no luck. It still hurts my boyfriend asks me to do a squat since we do several of those in class. Ouch nope, not happenin. Great now what, well my boyfriends nursing school kicks in and he recommends heating patches, pain relievers, and bed rest. He's very adament and the now continuous pain makes my decision to skip kickboxing class that much easier. Well I've been keeping the 8-hour ThermaCare patches on round the clock, taking otc pain relievers and it still hurts to walk. bend over, or squat. I'm hoping this pain goes away quickly. I don't want to derail my usual workout routine. Though as my boyfriend pointed out everything happens for a reason.
