Today was a run that was all about the mileage and not the pace.
I ended up with a 12:08 pace......if I was concerned I would not be happy but as I said this was just to try the mileage.

It started out temp wise decent but 100% humidity. I was doing well and then at 17 miles I felt dizzy. I know my body well and could tell I needed electrolytes. I had been fueling and drinking water but it wasn't enough with the amount of sweat I had. Decided to run home and drink some electrolytes and then finish the last 7 miles. I am so glad I did! It made a world of difference.

The run itself was uneventful. Lots of cars, a dead snake - so glad it wasn't alive or like my buddy Glenn I would have freaked a little.....

My lesson learned today is that I will more than likely have to drink some of the gatorade at the MCM. I have also learned that I do not enjoy spending my whole morning running. At this point I can honestly say that I am looking forward to the MCM but do not foresee myself running any future marathons. I will stick with the HM.
For now though.....57 days until my first Marathon!

Great job! You are using each training run wisely and are learning from each. That's what they are all about! I'd say you will have no problems on your marathon.

Oh yeah, don't let yourself get depleted or bigger problems than what those nasty drinks hold may be in store. It definitely is a balancing act. And you are learning something every time. I am pretty sure I would/will feel the same way about the distance. My car license plate bracket says "13.1 - Half the Distance, Twice the Fun" - I love that saying!

Way to go! That is so awesome. You have what I want...just to be able to say I've run a marathon once. You are so close and are doing fantastic! WooHoo!

I can't understand how you could even get past 10 miles without electrolytes!

    Wow! emoticon job!

I was staunchly anti-Gatorade until my first, near-bonking experience in a 24 hour mountain-biking relay. It was my last circuit (meaning I'd probably ridden for 8+ hours with little to no sleep) and I just couldn't keep going....so I finally caved and drank the gatorade at one of the fueling stations. The difference was incredible!

    Definitely take those electrolytes!
