Why I am doing this!

Thursday, July 26, 2012

Over the past few years I have struggled with my weight issues. BUT in 2011 things started to go in a bad and bad fast! I lost my father to lung cancer and that's when I made a promise to myself to lose weight and get healthy again. I did NOT want my children growing up without their mom. :( I also said I would quite smoking and guess what? I flipping DID IT!! I quit!!! After 18 years I finally did it! Ahhhhh..
Now at work we have a gym with tons of classes, testing, coaches, etc. So I signed up and they informed me that my doctor needs to sign off saying Im ok to workout. Im thinking ok no problem cause she just told me the other day that I needed to workout. Well to my surprise I get a phone call telling me I can not work out because my doctor said NO. Im like WHAT?? Ok so I talked to the doctor and she wanted my to do some blood work, so I did. Today I got my results and I have extremely high blood pressure which is not what I was expecting! I have never had health issues, well besides my sciatic nerve in my back and my knees but thats only because I weight to much.

Any who! I plan on getting my life back with or without anyone's help!

I'm glad that you have been successful in quitting smoking. emoticon emoticon emoticon emoticon

Since you want to work out, talk to your doctor and see what she sort of exercises she wants you to start out with and may as you loose the weight then you can do more as your blood pressure comes down. Sometimes the small steps are what are needed to get us on the right road and help us stay there. Good Luck!!

Go for the gusto. I have blood pressure. Actually I had scary high blood pressure. Exercise (and eating better, but mainly exercise) has reduced it so much that my medication has also been reduced. Great attitude. You will be successful!
