Retired At Last!!

Wednesday, June 27, 2012

WooHoo!! Retired at last!! Today was my last day to work. I was supposed to work tomorrow, but the bosses released me today and said I didn't have to come in tomorrow. Have spent the week training my replacement.

I have looked forward to this day for so many years. Even though we will now have to live on less money, we are really looking forward to not having to go to work every day and having more time to spend together. My DH retired the first of June and has spent the last month being a house husband. He has really adapted well to his role. He even cooked dinner tonight even though I was home. emoticon I think I'll keep him--lol.

Welcome to the best way to live. I love retirement and I am sure you will too. Work on staying healthy. That is so very important in this phrase of your life. Have fun!

emoticon emoticon You'll do fine. We live on much less money than we used to (I believe they call it a "fixed income" now--LOL) and get along fine. Enjoy your time together and make the most of it. It is a wonderful time of life! Love, Jeannie

You'll love being retired and with your DH you'll get into some fun mischief I'm sure--LOL! I retired about 4 1/2 years ago and I love it! I have more time for myself and what I enjoy doing. I got so tired of the daily grind getting up before the sun and coming home at 6 pm so tired I felt ready to go to bed. A whole new world will open up for you. . .Enjoy Retirement!!

Congratulations on your retirement. I retired after 33 years, 3 months, at the same company in June of 2006. I was only 50 years old. My husband retired a month earlier. You'll be amazed at all the things you don't really need. So far, so good, here. We have a small income and are getting by just fine. I'm so happy for you!!!

Congrats on your retirement!!! I know how wonderful you feel because after 39 years with the same job, I felt like I was walking on a cloud. However, I didn't have a husband cooking my dinner for me. I agree, keep him! lol Enjoy, enjoy!! Noel
