Felt like a princess...

Okay, maybe for a little while!
My husband took the entire day off yesterday before leaving for a long weekend on retreat. We decided to make a morning of it and went to breakfast. We love going to breakfast together, something about the time of day and being away from the routine helps us to really talk and connect.
Afterwards, we decided to shop for some new khakis for work for my husband. In the last six months he's added total body strength training to his regular cardio workouts, and cut back on some of his eating and has lost ten pounds. I've been teasing him about his baggy pants! He really didn't notice that the back of his pants looked sloppy...anyway, he was pleasantly surprised to find that I was right, he now needs a size 34 waist, rather than a tight 36.
He insisted that I look at nicer dresses while we were there, I think he's planning a nice 25th wedding anniversary outing for later this month...anyway, I found a dress that I love, and it was on sale and I had a discount coupon! The dress is very flattering, and it flares out when I move. I loved the look on my husband's face when I tried it on!
We both talked about how he has picked up on some of my healthier habits (Thanks SP!) and benefited as a result, and how we don't want to go back to our previous weights. We also talked about how to continue improving our diet habits together, some of the things we've tried lately that we liked etc. It's really a blessing to feel like we are on the same page with our health goals.
I guess I'm feeling like a success story today. I know I'm far from perfect, but I'm moving forward and today helped affirm this. Thanks for reading! Have a wonderful weekend, especially all you Moms!!!
