CHOOSE YES OR NO

Tuesday, May 01, 2012

We have so many opportunities in our lives every day to make choices for good or evil, to go or stay, eat or abstain, love or hate, say "Yes" or say "No." Sometimes it's complicated. When we say NO to a fattening food we may be saying YES to life. When we confront someone who is taking advantage of us, we are saying NO to evil, and YES for our good. When we use tough love on our kids it may seem like we are saying NO to their happiness, but we are saying YES to their well-being. Staying in bed may seem like a good thing to do but saying YES to getting up to go to a Weight Watchers meeting is the better thing to do; So I have to say NO to stay, and YES to go!
Life is a matter of choices, every day in every way. Sometimes we don't know whether to say YES or say NO. That's when I ask the Lord for direction because some choices are a lot more important, especially if they have far reaching outcomes.
One of the simplest choices I make each day is what to eat, but it's such an important choice because the cumulative effect of those simple daily choices determine the outcome and well being of my life.

I love your absolutely true blog and viewpoint. I need to say yes more to healthy things and no to things that have become a not so desirable habit. This is a very wise way of looking at it and ultimately it all is about our choices in life. Thank you for making me think.

    Hugs,
