Feeling pretty good about my weekend...

Good Afternoon, Spark Friends!

I had a pretty good weekend, how about you?

My husband and I had our usual "date-night" with take-out Chinese and a DVD movie on Friday evening. I felt good about my meal because I ordered steamed rice, not fried and put a serving of the entrée and rice on my plate and the rest in the fridge for another meal. My husband and I split an egg roll, and each had one crab rangoon. This seems to be very satisfying, I feel like I'm having a great treat, but I don't feel ill later!! My husband even put part of his entrée away for another meal...

I went over my calories by maybe 50 on Friday, and stayed within my range on Saturday and Sunday. I decided to not eat cookies, cake, candy and the like during Lent...this isn't like a requirement of my faith or anything...I just like the idea of thinking of God, talking to Him when I'm craving something that really isn't so good for me. Maybe this will be the missing piece to achieve balance in my sweet treats...I'll let you know if it helps! I'm still craving those darn cookies...but reaching for fruit, or a more healthful snack.

I tried the free yoga class at my local library on Saturday. I enjoyed the class because it was pretty relaxing, and my classmates were friendly, and made me feel welcome. I had a couple sore muscle areas on Sunday, but not bad at all. It's not easy for me to try new social situations, so this was a victory for me!

I also got one of "The Biggest Loser" workout DVD's when I was at the library. I've done it a couple of times and like it for variety.

I'm aiming for a great week of staying within my calories and giving my body good nutrition. I'm also planning to stick with my strength training and cardio routine, and of course those daily walks with my faithful dog, Lucy!!!

Wishing everyone a healthy week!

Fantastic Sheri! I'll say it again "you are such an inspiration"

You are in control, you are in the driver's eat and you can do it. I like the idea of Lent too...I'm trying not to eat sugar as well during this time.

You are doing so good girl! I love your plan..keep it up!

Wishing you a great positive healthy weekend too!

I am sure you realise that if you set your heart and mind to achieve your goals that you are unstoppable. You have just proved it. It does not mean that you won't ever crave something. That would be unrealistic. It does mean however that you can control what you put in your mouth, when and how you exercise, sleep, drink water and making other healthy choices.

Good on you. I am so glad for you.

You have much to be proud of. emoticon
Paying attention to what your body needs is such a big step I believe in conquering unhealthy cravings. And now you are setting an example for your husband. emoticon

Good for you for trying the class. I understand the hesitation when trying out new social situations emoticon
I'm usually glad I gave it a try.
I find yoga gives me the time to think about me and my goals. emoticon
What ever you do, make it fun!

How fun that your good habits are rubbing off on your hubby! Love it! Half an egg roll? Wow! That's perfect. You still get the taste but not all the calories of eating the whole thing! Sounds like you had a healthy, happy weekend. Good for you.

Wishing you a healthy week as well.
