food tracker to the rescue

I have just entered into my food tracker what I have eaten so far today and then what I was going to have for my evening meal. It is a lovely beef casserole and no problem for the diet as it is all lean meat and lots of veg. Then I decided to add a little treat of a 'low fat' suet dumpling. Imagine my shock when my meal jumped from 300 calories to over 600. I quickly scrubbed the dumplings, replaced them with a small portion of mashed potato and voila, back on track.
It pays to check the calories before you eat NOT after.
