Living in Today and not Tomorrow (Food Blog included)

Thursday, January 12, 2012

Good evening everyone! So today I really struggled with my eating. Actually not my eating but my wanting to binge on stuff that I don’t need. Most of the day I wanted to run to the store and buy a bunch of candy, cookies, or chips and eat all of it in a sitting or two. Did I? Nope. Instead I reached out to some friends to help me get thru that urge. Honestly, I don’t know why I had that super strong urge. Nothing really that emotional is going on. Work is busy but it always is. Home life is busy but it always is with 2 small kids under the age of 5. So I don’t know. All I know is that I wanted to dive into a bag of candy and not come up for air until all of it was gone. One thing I have learned over the past 6 months, is to take things 1 day at a time. Anyone can do something for just 1 day, right? For today I will not binge. Not to worry about tomorrow and just to focus on today. I’ve heard the following phrase a number of times (and it is so true): "If you have one foot on yesterday and one foot on tomorrow... well then, you are pissing on today." So basically, what is in the past is in the past and to learn from it and move on. Also to not worry about what will come tomorrow. Today I choose to be abstinent from my red light foods. Today I choose my health over my desire to binge. Today I choose me over my food addiction. With the help of my higher power and all of my dear friends, I can beat this addiction. I want to thank everyone for being here the past few years! I don’t know if I could do this journey without all of the support that I have received. And for that I am truly grateful!

To keep me honest with my food today I decided that it would be a good idea to post pictures of EVERYTHING that I ate. Who wants to post pictures of a bunch of junk food? Not me! So here you go.
