4th day..Find a way or an excuse.

Thursday, January 05, 2012

I'm sure many of you know the quote that I summed up in my title. "If it is important to you, you will find a way, If not, you'll find an excuse".

I was thinking about that quote a lot as I headed to the gym..In the past, I always used work as my daily excuse. Now, I'm not going to say that there arent days that are extremely long, or that I'm tired and my legs are jello. BUT, every single day of the work week? Nope. But, it was a good excuse that I used for myself. Not anymore.

Today, I was up by 4:15, and out the door before 5 for work. I didnt get back to my office until 6pm, and had been walking around on my feet for at LEAST 7 hours straight today. No joke, no chair to sit in. I was tired, I was hungry, but..I went to the gym anyway.

Got on that treadmill, and I wont lie to you, it wasnt fun. My feet were cement blocks, and I knew my body was tired. My legs also havent had exercise like this in quite awhile and I'm sure by now are going WT*! but, I kept pluggin along. When I couldnt handle the mentally rough run any longer, I hopped on the elliptical. And guess what. I hit 710 calories burned in a little over an hour! WOOO!

And honestly, the after feeling? always worth it. Love being beyond sweaty as I push open the gym door out to the fresh air. I feel like a champ.

Came home, had lasagna (GUILT FREE bc of the calorie burn - yay!) and now layin here in bed. I'm not yet used to working out at night, so I still have a hard time falling asleep right away, but..ill have to adapt.

Because..I want to FIND A WAY. I want to be a girl that others envy (sorry but true), I want to go to bed feeling proud of what i did for myself that day,I want to be confident in a bikini, I want to see my ab muscles, I want to be able to run in just a sports bra and cute shorts. Is that going to happen by my going over calories and not working out during the work week? Uhhh..NOPE!

So, I'm going to keep bringing it.

You are hitting it up in the gym!!! Great job. Glad that you're adapting to your new schedule. I think once you get into the routine, you'll be able to fall asleep easier.

Atta girl! I dragged my butt out of bed at 5:20 this morning and was able to get 30 minutes on the elliptical before going to work. This is a rare occurrence, and only works when I'm at work meetings and the hotel has a gym, but it felt good. But now its back to the gym to stay on track for my New Rules of Lifting for Women!

Great post! I say "ditto" to all of that. Thanks for the motivation to hit the gym after work today.

Keep up the hard work. It will pay off!
