Once again, I wrote a blog, only to have it disappear into cyberspace. So I closed down my computer and went outside and walked the extra 120 steps that I promised myself to try today. That's two round trips up and down my wheelchair ramp to my car. Together with some ankle and foot movements, that's a big exercise day for me. I achieved more benefits from the acts of doing than from any negligible calorie burn.
But Rome wasn't built in a day.
JANUARY 1,2012 I performed some minimal, but purposeful exercise.
It feels good; like a marathon to someone else.
So today was a good day.

    I agree. Those extra steps are like a marathon to me, too. But with perseverence, 120 steps may turn into 500, then 1000, etc. We can do it. Hugs from Janet in central Illinois Congratulations on your progress.

    Congrats on the extra excersise some times I look for excuses not to excersize and I dont have any movement problems so the excuses are gonna stop now.

    Thanks for the reminder to plan regular increases to my exercise. I am fortunate to have no significant health restrictions; and if you can do it, so will I!

    Patty, great work on the exercise! That old adage that a journey starts with a singel step is so true. By the way, I've had blogs and longer posts disappear before, too. Now I write my blogs ahead of time as a document and then cut and paste into the blog. It's saved me a lot of headaches, but for you it helped you get some exercise! Yea!! Hugs, Jeannie
