Dieting while Breastfeeding

Tuesday, December 13, 2011

Not sure how successful this will be. Every time I drop my calories past 2000/day I see a drop in milk production.

I already use my "extra time" (which doesn't really exist) exercising.

At my current intake I am maintaining my weight, not losing or gaining.

Maybe wait a year???

I wouldn't wait a year, but maybe wait a couple months. It takes a while for the milk production to even out and they feed so often at the start. I started my initial weight loss when my child was 6 months and still breastfeeding and was able to keep making enough milk for her. Have you joined any breastfeeding teams, there is a big one that provides lots of good resources and support, I think it's called 'Breastfeeding Moms'
