Why failure is NOT an option anymore!

You started this journey for a reason, whether it was to change for you, and your family, to get into some jeans, or just transform your appearance. Point is, you wanted it and decided to try it. So here you are, eating less, making better food choices, taking the stairs more, getting active AND you hit a wall. You’ve made all these changes, and for some reason or another you’re not getting the results you want or should be getting.
“What’s the use?” says your head… the answer?
Above: “Point is, you WANTED it…”
Whatever reason you had for trying this, is still there, you still want it. So after all this effort, all these changes, why stop now?
You know you feel better after the workout; even if you have to make yourself do it, why lose that feeling?
You know the pride you get when you accomplish a goal, why leave it unfinished when you can celebrate it if you keep going?
This is something you want and CAN attain, why not work for it?
Here is the answer I have heard “It’s too hard.”
I feel this is appropriate from one of my favorite movies “A league of their own”:
“It just got to hard!”
“It’s supposed to be hard, if it wasn’t hard everybody would do it. The “hard”, is what makes it great.”
Some of the best things we get aren’t given to us. We have to work for them, earn them. So that in the end we will respect our bodies more, we will do what we can to keep our bodies in the condition we have gotten them to.
The pride, the sense of accomplishment, the confidence, the boost of self-esteem, the compliments, the reflection you see in the mirror, the fact of knowing YOU did it, passing your goals, feeling better physically, knowing you’re more healthy for you and your family… while these things are not everyone’s reasons for starting their journey, they can ALL be yours! The only thing standing between you and the success you long for is your head.
Your heart wants it, your body says to your brain “this is hard” and your brain replies “what’s the use?” DON’T stop there!! Bring your heart back into the conversation with “I want this, that’s why!!!”
Failure SHOULDN’T be an option.
Failure ISN’T an option.
Change your thinking.
Love yourself enough to not only make the change, but to keep going!! Go until you reach your goals… then go some more!
Seeing the light at the end of the tunnel and getting to that light isn’t enough, go run around in it!
And one more thing friends, I hope you all keep in mind that all the advice I give, all the knowledge I have… was GAINED! I didn’t know any of this stuff. I don’t know everything. I didn’t know the tips and tricks; I didn’t even know how to get started. And I’m pretty sure most of us on sparkpeople who have lost weight and reached goals are the same in this area. I didn’t start my journey knowing everything, which may had been overwhelming for me. You learn as you go, the more you want it, the more you will do the research to find out how to get it.
Put into practice the information you find, and if it works for you, make it a part of your lifestyle change.
Failure isn’t an option anymore, do this… for you!!
Rock it out!!
Much love,
Em
