I was recently inspired to share a blog loaded with beautiful photos by another Spark friend, WILDFIREKRISTIN. Earlier in October, my family went for a bike ride through the beautiful UW Arboretum in Madison, Wisconsin. We loaded up the bikes on the bike rack, and headed out. Not only did we ride bikes for nearly 6 miles, but I got a lot of beautiful photos of fall color to share with you!
My daughter Kayla pauses for a minute while I snap a photo!
Isn't this beautiful??? I wish the color could last longer than it does.
My husband stops for a photo.
Some areas were more green than others. Here my younger daughter is in the foreground and my husband in the background.
I just love the yellow leaves!
My family, the love of my life: My 12 year old daughter Kayla on the left, then my 7 year old son Jaden, my husband Matt and then my 10 year old daughter Courtney on the far right.
Jaden isn't able to keep up with us just yet, so he still rides on the bicycle extension that hooks to my bike. He loves it!!!
My beautiful boy!
A beautiful canopy of leaves over the road.
Kayla didn't want her picture taken but finally I convinced her.
Sorry there are no pictures of me... I tend to be the photographer of the family, and many years back when I had put on a lot of weight I forbid my husband to take pictures of me. Now I've given back permission to him, but sometimes he forgets or I don't think to hand the camera to him and ask him to take a picture. I know what everyone here will say... Yes I need to capture these years while my kids are young, they need to have their mother in pictures with them. This is something I am working on, and it's one of my reasons to keep sparkin' and losing weight so I feel like I look better!
Anyways we had a wonderful bike ride, and even though my kids complained about it, I told my husband we need to continue being active as a family together. The beautiful scenery has been there all these years, and yet I have never gone through the Arboretum until this day. In the future I would like to see us do things together such as hiking through some of the scenic state parks in our area, canoeing, snowshoeing and cross country skiing in winter, and more bike rides!
