Joined Curves...LOVE IT!!!

Saturday, October 22, 2011

I joined Curves and have made it through my first week. I love it! I went to my first Zumba class on Friday and thought I was going to die before it was over but it was fun. I am getting 30 minutes of exercise 3x a week. Now I just need to get my eating under control. I want to start with getting the portion sizes under control but am not doing great all the time. Actually most of the time I am horrible at it.

I dropped out of the 5% Firecrackers challenge because I didn't seem to be able be on the site enough to be supportive for everyone and felt stressed out with trying to work, commute, be with my family, and read posts and post. I am just going to peak into Spark when I can and do the best I can. I'm sure as times goes on I will get better but right now I am doing the best I can.

I can definitely tell a difference with just one week of regular exercise. I have more energy and it is easier to get out of the bed in the morning, with the exception of Saturday morning because I was a little sore and weary from my Zumba class.

Well, just wanted to let everyone know what was up with me and that I had not dropped off the planet but was just having a hard time managing time on Spark with other areas of my life.

Other news:

I recently became an permanent employee of Sammons Financial Group in West Des Moines, IA. It is the best place to work. They treat their employees like they are precious and show their appreciation for our work in so many ways it is amazing! I can hardly believe I have found a job that fits my personality so well. I can only hope that everyone is able to feel the way I feel about my job. I have to pinch myself sometimes to make sure I am not dreaming.

I hope everyone else is going well and I think of you often even though I am not around much.

I've been curious about both Curves and Zumba. I wish I lived closer and could try both.

Sounds like you have a great job. There is hope!! LOL.

Peg, the only way I can afford it is my employer pays $300 a year for a gym membership. After this year it will only cost me $90 a year to be a member. The one in Perry closed down too but there is one on the way home from work, one in the town my oldest daughter lives in, and there is one 12 miles away so I am covered. It takes so much of the decision out of exercising.

    Take care all.

So glad you have found a fun way to get exercise. My daughter manages a Curves in TN. We use to have one, but it closed many years ago. Too small of a rural town to support one. They cater to women only, some of who work all day, and of those that don't work, not many have the funds for Curves membership. I do wish it had made it because they were a lot of fun.

Hi Deb.....I am glad you love your job....it always nice to have a job that treats their employees well!! I am happy to hear that you are doing well with your workouts!! The food is the hardest and I still have issues....but take one meal at a time and you will have it under control in time!! I don't think I ever told you but I actually grew up in Iowa, we moved to MN when I was 13. If I ever move back to the U.S I am planning to move to Iowa..Waterloo/Cedar Falls.

    Keep up the workouts!! Kim
