starting again with the basics...

Sunday, October 09, 2011

Nearly 2 and a half months after reaching my goal weight, I am six pounds heavier and have completely ignored all of the reasons I started on this path in the first place. I have slipped back into old and unhealthy habits. I'm a little bit surprised that my attitude has been one of 'well I've reached my goal so I can now just have/do (or not do when it comes to being active) what I want'. I know better! I'm trying to be kind to myself and not beat myself up too much, but it is easier said than done.

I am setting some new goals today and trying to revisit some of the reasons that I wanted to change my life. I must remember that this is about changing habits forever...not just temporarily. I'm pleased that I'm recommitting myself-and before things got too out of control! It's the right thing to do. I'm worth it.

Looking forward to reconnecting with my spark friends. I've missed you!

Glad you are back, well, glad to see you on here, not glad that you slipped back into old habits. I am sorry, unfortunatley, it is so easy to. You can do this again! I am also recommitting to my goals and healthy after well...slacking off I guess.

Have a great week this week!

This morning I got up, stepped on the scale and saw that I gained a few pounds that I knew I was going to gain because of my choices this past week. Like you I choose not to beat myself up but to dust myself off and begin again to make the right choices. There is no other way to do it but to simply do it. Whether we reach goal weight or not this lifetime committment to healthy living is not easy but thanks to this site and folks like you who put their experiences out there for all to see, people like me are surely grateful to know that we are not alone and with each other's help we can make this journey a bit more bearable.
Hope you have a successful week as you put your plans into action to reach your goal. All the best. emoticon
