Maybe I'm a Girly-Girl after all?!

I thought I was past wanting to look good when I work out...WAY back in the 80's when I was working out at a "health club" we ladies fixed our "big" hair and wore cute headbands and spandex, lycra...whatever the fabric of the day was (it was uncomfortable!!) with our leg-warmers...we looked pretty silly...(you can watch an old Jane Fonda workout video for visuals!) but thought we were looking good...anyway, the past 14 years or so I've been working out at home, with DVD's or in my neighborhood with a walk or jog...and I admit I've been spotted wearing some pretty unattractive, baggy combinations...but I figured it just didn't matter, as long as I could more freely, who cares? Right?
Well, I read someone's blog about exercise wear..newer fabrics etc...(I think Coach Nicole, but don't hold me to it?!) and how she liked to have new work out clothes because it motivated her...and thought "eh, not me". But while cleaning out my storage area I found some old exercise tops, ones I wore before gaining weight...they looked pretty small, but I tried them on and they fit! But the best part is that when I put on my more fitted tops and pants to work out...I work out HARDER!!! Really. I am shocked at the difference it makes! I guess that it makes sense, if I'm wearing PJ bottoms..just MAYBE I might not be giving it my all?!!
I've bought a few more "cute" tops and pants to work out in, and I'm moving a little brisker as I exercise in my cute girly workout clothes... I refuse to do make-up and hair to work out though!!! Maybe a new workout outfit will work for some of you?
Thanks for getting this far in my blog! Have a fit and fabulous weekend, friends!
