Long time no blog..lol

Wednesday, August 10, 2011

Hi everyone! Wow it's been a long time coming for this email! So basically I was looking back at my blogs and realizing that I start and stop a lot off different plans!! From Sensa, to hula, rugby, plans in books, my own plans, eating clean....and I NEVER stick with any of them! I know they say all diets don't work for everyone but I was hoping one of them would make me wanna keep going. Maybe I've just lost my spark or I have ADD as some of my friends think lol but whatever it is, it's really annoying! So I'm writing this to ask for help, tips, or advice. What works for you? What can you suggest? What keeps you going? What stops you from quitting? Maybe one of your answers will help me out:) What's some of your goals too...I always need help setting goals. If you have no goal, then you usually don't plan, and if you don't plan you fail so maybe that's the first step I should do. Love to hear from you!!! :) PS-as of now I'm on WW (weight watchers) but have not been doing so well the last two weeks. Also I'm not on an exercise plan. Not yet anyway. Still thinking about joining hula too. Hmmm

It's not NO diet will work-
in fact, ANY diet will work-
    if you stick to it.
    Low carb,
    low fat,
    fit for life,
    south beach,
Pick one that you can live with and commit to it- forever!

Focus on one thing. ONE THING. Eat under 1600 calories every day no matter what. When that becomes natural focus one ONE MORE THING. Upping your activity EVERY DAY PLUS EATING UNDER 1600 calories. Honestly Jen, you are just like me! NOTHING works unless you continue it.

I like the honesty in your blog...it's not always sunshine and hula hoops, but that's life as well...my weight has gone up significantly in the last few months, but a bit, thankfully, is muscle...not all, but results are results....running is my "me time" and it really provides me a freedom from the daily grind that I crave...gym time is a blast, too...I am more an introvert, so the solo workouts are fine for me, but I know a lot of folk that thrive in classes...even people who don't necessarily like exercising! So, yep, develop an exercise plan, and do your best to stick with it....it will give you energy rather than sap you of it....I also like to think about my kids and, someday God willing, their kids and how I would like to be around as long as I can, as healthy as I can, for all of them...not just to sit and dribble on my bib, but interact and just love them in a very active and memorable way!

And, God...yep, God...He made you special and praying about your healthy lifestyle may open doors that you never knew were there!

    What works for me?

Making sure I dedicate time to exercise everyday yes on weekends, yes on my bday, yes on Christmas.

    What can I suggest?

Making sure this part of your life comes first. I am a single mom. I put my kid first HOWEVER, if I die of a heart attack from being unhealthy, then, who will put my kid first? I must come first. My health is important to my child's ultimate well-being. Without me, my child has NOTHING. Therefore, making sure I am healthy needs to come first.

    What keeps me going?

Results, support on SP, these wonderful beautiful ppl like ABB698 who always makes comments on my page and blogs! They keep me going and going and going...

    What stops me from quitting?

Knowing that overall, I am doing this for my entire family.

    Some of my current goals:

I want to run a 10K. I am running my second 5K in August the day before my 41st bday.

I have a weight loss goal to get to 175lbs. Then work from there.

    Where did I begin:

    Biggest weight 326lbs.
    Diabetes II candidate.

I'm now at 181lbs, two years later.

Hope this helps and you are local. We should chat!

Man Jen, I really want you to find YOUR thing. You have so much knowledge of a little of everything, I so want you to find how to use it as much as you want it! When that comes, you will be amazing. I think you really need a routine. Just like brushing your teeth or showering is part of your daily routine, you need to make fitness and nutrition a part of that routine and just do it. Can you do a video while watching Don? Can you walk to the store, instead of driving? Find something Girlie, you can do it. Start off small and make it a streak. Tell yourself its a requirement.
On the other hand, seriously, would love to do the Mud Run next year. I'm scared to death of not being able to finish, but I really want to do it. And if I had to pick one person to do it with, it'd be you! If you really want to do this, we have to sign up in January, so lets seriously put this plan into action. My kids would probably want to do it too. We could be the SPBFF-DF Team :) Okay, we better get moving if we are gonna do a 10k and kick some Cali butt while doing it!
    Love ya!!!! emoticon
