I challenged a co-worker today to a "Biggest Loser" weight loss challenge yesterday to see who can lose the most weight (percentage wise) by October 1, 2011. I did this because I have been losing weight consistently for the past five months, but am feeling a little stuck in the rut. I have about 3 lbs to go until I hit a total of 30 lbs weight loss since starting my new job, about 9 lbs to go until I hit my personal weight loss goal, and about 12 lbs to go before I am at a normal BMI. I needed something to help me stay positive and get out of this rut. The prize for the winner is $200. Some might say that this is a little excessive, but I am trying to look at the $200 as cheaper than a personal trainer. I know what it takes to safely and effectively lose weight and I am going to do that. If in the end I lose, I will consider the $200 as an investment. If I win, however, the proceeds will need to go to a new wardrobe since my current one is diminishing and I cannot afford to purchase new attire until my clothes once again are too baggy to keep up on my hips. ... Or then again, I will owe myself some new tattoos so it may come in handy for financing the artwork!
Wish me luck. As part of my training, I will be logging onto Sparkpeople more frequently to make sure that I am staying within my caloric range. I am hoping to be a better motivator for others so I can spread the Spark!!!
