Happy August, SparkFriends!
My SparkFriend AMBERNICHOLE3 set up a team to help everyone mix-up their fitness efforts and kick-start some positive changes. I've not done a 30-day challenge before, so I'm excited to see what it's about.
In her latest blog, AMBERNICHOLE3 also referenced the Real Age website. It's been a while since I checked it out, and I was glad that I did so today. Through calculating my "Real Age", I was able to identify some non-fitness goals and changes to try and make in thirty days.
So, here it goes:
(SEE?! I am a dork, LOL!!)
Real Age = 42.9
Actual Age = 44.25
(More dork, LOL!)
I'm also 5'9" and a bit of change. Seeing numbers doesn't always help unless you have a bit more frame of reference. I don't anticipate getting shorter this month.
This week's Team challenge is to incorporate more strength training! I've been using leg weights as part of the knee rehab, and recently re-introduced upper body weight exercises. Now is a good time to dust off my yoga mat and do some Core work, as well!
Other goals include
- making green tea a regular part of my day (I can use less caffeine, believe it or not)
- getting more whole grains in my diet (I'm open to all suggestions)
- expanding social circles; I do a lot of my activities (biking, knitting, reading) in solitary fashion, and so I'm willing to try and reach out a bit more.
There it is, SparkFriends; it's out there for all to see. If not HOT, at least I'll be ACCOUNTABLE in August!
