French Fry Help!! Feeling guilty about foods before you eat them
Thursday, July 14, 2011
I am so proud to be able to say that I am finally in the mindset of a healthy lifestyle change. I know that no matter what happens, I am on the wagon, securely rooted, and I'm not falling off for anything. I know that I can have a treat and know that it's a treat and not an excuse to jump off the wagon because I "blew" my day or my week or month. BUT, I am still having issues with guilty feelings about certain food choices.
Such as, will I ever be able to order french fries in a restaurant again without feeling I should have made a better choice/my dining buddies won't make comments like "are't you supposed to be eating healthy?". Last night I went to a soccer game with my bf and the only "healthy" option was a veggie burger. So I got that veggie burger and was going to get a side of fries too but then felt guilty about it, so I didn't get them! I know with weight-loss, this is very beneficial to ignore the foods that may be a little bit worse for you, but I don't want to feel like there are good and bad foods, especially when I get to the maintenance stage. I know it's calories in/calories out and people feel that if they allot the calories for it, they can eat it, but wouldn't it be better to not eat the fried foods at all? Sigh...
Any comments would be appreciated!! Thank you!!!
