Pictures for BARBIETEC (and Everyone!)

Sunday, June 05, 2011

Hi All -

In a crazy stroke of Spring Madness, we are experiencing the SECOND day of magnificent weather. Trust me when I say it's been a long while coming!

I told BARBIETEC that I was going on a walk and would take some pictures. For those of you that read my previous blog, I've also included my prayer flags and garden.

Here's the start of the walk, right outside my door:

A view of my prayer flags from the ground level:

The other end of the walkway; the sun was too bright to see the Berger Fountain, but it's there!

Here's a different shot of the fountain; park view, taken a bit later in the day:

We also walked past the Basilica of St. Mary, America's First Basilica:

More about the Basilica:

The trip took us to the Farmer's Market, where we loaded up on fruits and vegetables. Only the tall onions were locally-grown, but it won't be long before we're eating the first summer harvest from the region.

As you can see, my garden is coming along pretty well, too!

I hope everyone is having a healthful, happy day!

So nice to see more of the sun !!

Thanks for the tour, Love your city and parks and especially your balcony with Tibetan prayer flags and garden.

MNGILRIE you are so lucky your basil is thriving, I planted some in containers and it didn't come up, have to try again. Pesto with home grown basil is awesome.

I'm absolutely loving this beautiful weather here. You're right. It IS a long time coming. It's put me in such a wonderful mood. My grandparents were married in that Basilica. It's a beautiful place. What are you growing in your garden? I've started a container garden for my first time this year. We'll see how things turn out. The basil is going crazy which makes me excited.
