Hi all! I thought I would blog about my water struggle today. I hope writing about it brings things to mind that will help me be more consistent. I used to do very well getting in my 8 cups minimum of water, but this last year or so good habits were replaced by bad ones.
I'm thinking that my coffee habit is making things harder. I've been so busy and so tired that I'm turning to coffee more than I used to.
Another problem is that I'm not supposed to drink within an hour of eating due to a past surgery. This really makes things difficult, because that is when I would have the easiest time drinking my water.
Yesterday, I succeeded in getting down 9 cups of water!!!!
What worked for me yesterday is drinking water during my commute to work. I have a long commute. I always have water in my car, but this time I made a goal to finish my water bottle by the time I got to work. Then I refilled it for my commute home. I also drank water at work. I didn't allow myself more coffee unless I drank water.
So, here is my plan to stay on track.
Goal: To Drink A Minimum Of 3 Of My Refillable Water Bottles Daily or Equivalent. My Water bottle holds 22 oz.
1. Drink a full bottle of water during my commute to work. If I'm not working finish 1st bottle in the morning.
2. Drink a minimum of a 2nd bottle water at work or before dinner if at home.
3. Drink 3rd bottle or remaining ounces during commute home or during the late afternoon/early evening if home. If off work, my goal is to have water finished by 7 pm.
4. If I'm ahead in drinking my water I will allow myself a daytime cup of coffee. If I'm not on track no daytime coffee allowed.
Okay, we will see how consistent I am. I'm about to get ready for work and my water bottle is filled.
I will try to keep posting on how I do with this goal.
