My daughter is amazing. I'm so proud of her. I thought I would have to walk with her some, but she finished before me. First let me say, she is not a runner. I thought she could be and after this weekend I have proof. She didn't really train for it other than her running that she does in P.E., softball and track. She is active, but doesn't and hasn't ever ran more than a mile all at once. Saturday she ran her 5k in 33 minutes. She finished 96 over all. I don't know the exact number of entries, but I know that it was close to 300. I'm gushing. I'm just so excited. My time was 36 min and some seconds. My worst time for a race, but I really haven't been committed to my running lately so that was pretty good. When I was approaching the finish line, I could hear my daughter cheering me on. She came back to me and then finished with me. She is truly a gift. Still gushing.
So there is another one on July 2nd. My niece has already asked to start running with me because she needs some motivation. So I think the 3 of us will be signing up together.
On Sunday, we went to my son's first All-Star baseball game. The team has only had 2 practices. They ended up losing both games, but have some potential. He pitched for the first time ever. He only had to pitch for one inning. We already had one out. So he struck one batter out and then another hit straight back at him and he fielded the ball and threw him out. I was so proud. Like I said, we had a great weekend.
Starting to run more consistently again. I just have to get back at it.
Looking for a great week.
You all have a great week too. Get out and move. Enjoy life!!
