An Amazing (Race) Challenge

Friday, May 20, 2011

One of my teams isThe Amazing Race team. A bunch of us, with a weakness for this fabulous TV program get together on Spark and discuss the latest news. After the last episode of the season someone thought we should do an Amazing Race challenge. I am not one for challenges. Most of them look boring and I never had any desire to join. Not this one. One of our team leaders designed the most awesome program. So far I have been to Reykjavic, gone up the stairs at the Eiffel tower and biked through Amsterdam. Now in Cairo, I have to drink 8 cups of water and name the smallest pyramid for my Pit stop, before I get instructions for the next destination. Since I started on Monday I have lost 2 lbs. I have started to walk great distances and dusted off (and used) my stationary bike. My feet ache, my thighs ache (all those stairs) but I feel great. Thank you Tanya, for doing all this work.

This challenge is perfect timing for me too!! I started to hit a plateau and I've added more exercise, water and fruit and veggies thanks to the Amazing Race! I'll weigh into tomorrow and see how I've done. Back to the race...keep on sparking!!

Totally agree! This has been quite fun! I'm going a little slower out of Zambia, but I'm moving.

I have lost 2.2 pounds since my weigh in last Thursday. I think this is a great way to shake things up. I'm sure those stairs were a turning point for me!

    I am loving this challenge!

I don't usually go for the Challenges, either...but this one is Amazing (pun intended). I'm on my way to the first Pit Stop, so I'm wayyyyy behind you, but I'm coming!

I feel exactly the same way. There's just something about it that is soo motivating! My boys even got in on the stair climbing. We did sets of our stairs. I had to do 50 sets. The boys did 20 and 10 sets. My oldest children (12&11) have been asking me where I'm going next and what do I have to do. Really cool. See ya in Zambia emoticon emoticon
