Just joined

Good morning my Spark People,

I just joined today and I must say that SparkPeople.com is one of the easiest and fastest cyber groups I've ever joined. Everything is so user friendly and with a few clicks I was already set up as a team member. I love it already!
Let's see, I've been trying to lose weight, you know since like forever like everyone else, but I just started really trying in January 2011. I've since lost some weight and will continue to try and maintain the weight loss. I found that losing weight can be FUN and the results are evenb etter, but maintaing the weigh off is the hard core problem. Unfortunately it is so easy to regain the weight than it is to lose it, but thats where determination, hard work and the Spark Team come in. Time to make a lifestyle change! I've been reading the back of food labels more now than ever before and I'm working on portion control. A little bit at a time goes a long way.
I have a group of ladies that I walk with everyday during our break and they are a big help to me and we share our weight loss information and our goals while we walk. I remember at one point that I couldn't even walk and talk at the same time, but now, ta-dah..i can do both hooray! Well this is it for now. Oh I go to the gym 2 times out fo the week and will try to go 3 to 4 times per week. I have picked up Turbo Kick and I enjoy it very much! Eventually I hope to fit in some Zumba classes but for right now Turbo Kick classes keep me moving.
Alritey then, I'm gonna call it a day for right now and hope to meet others on the Spark Team.
Excited to keep motivated and lose that weight!

    Thanks to all who have stopped by my blog for the welcomes! Its a one day at a time mode for me right now. I'm definitely gonna keep it going and do my best!
    There's so much information out there about weight loss and dieting and exercising, but I'm gonna find something that suits me. So far its been cutting down and exercise. I know water and rest at night helps as well.

    Welcome! I'm just now in maintenance mode - hoping it isn't as tough as you say - I've never needed to diet before so I've just returned to my usual weight since having gained 30 pounds after a car accident put me out of exercise commission for many months...didn't realize how active I had been (without really thinking about it).

    Anyway, Zumba is amazing - I hope you try it. It is a great cardio workout - like Turbo but much more of a party atmosphere - which is a lot of fun.
