Pics of Day #1 of eating! First attempt at eating clean!

Friday, April 29, 2011

Breakfast: Steel cut oats with walnuts, cinnamon, raisins, 1 Tbsp organic agave nectar, and one glass of organic skim milk. I didn't eat the banana. I was full. I ate it later for a snack.

Lunch: Big salad (spinach, romaine lettuce, red cabbage, red onion, sunflower seeds, dried cranberries, black beans, cherry tomatoes, fat free feta cheese from Trader Joes, yogurt dressing) corn on the cob-no butter and hardly any salt! It doesn't really stick with no butter. lol Also I did eat 2 crackers made by Kashi and one boiled egg. It took me awhile to eat this. It was pretty big so next time it will be smaller. I had abig glass of water with it.

Snack before dinner was my banana and pecans and at some point I ate 3 olives and one little square of dark chocolate, then after my workout last night (after dinner) I had the orange and boiled egg. I read in a book that eggs are just about the most perfect food, the only thing it's missing in vitamins is Vitamin C so I added the orange for a complete meal:)

Dinner was SO good. I made turkey meatballs...now I did use regular Italian breadcrumbs (wasn't prepared) but it was only 1/4 cup for a whole pound of turkey so that's not too bad. I made it in organic tomato basil crushed tomato sauce and the rest of some spaghetti sauce I had in the fridge. I used whole wheat spaghetti noodles. I sprinkled it with parm cheese (not shown). This picture is kinda sloppy. lol I got full and only ate about 3/4 of it. I ate the rest after my workout.

After my workout I did add a small piece of french bread (all natural-no enriched anything) to the rest of my spaghetti. Then I ate my orange and egg several hours later. I stayed up until 2am and got back from the gym at 9pm. I did a great leg/abs workout and even did some dips and pull-ups just for fun! I had the whole gym to myself. It was awesome! I can't wait to go back again when it's quiet!

Overall my day was great! I didn't realize we were doing no sugar on this challenge including honey and agave nectar. So I'll try my best to resist! lol Hope everyone is doing great! -Jennifer
