Day 260: Getting the Hang of It
Thursday, April 21, 2011
I'm almost 10 weeks into my Weight Watchers Online plan and I'm getting the hang of it. Last week I had a six day trip (business and pleasure) and I ate out almost every meal. It seemed easier to make choices from the menus, and I was much more comfortable asking the wait staff for substitutions and alterations in the way my food was prepared.
I have slacked off with water, and I'm sure that will affect my scale victories. At the beginning, I was very conscious to keep water with me at all times. Now, I have it with me, but I ignore it. That's not the way to choose health.
My back is feeling better. The past two days, I was able to walk up a flight of stairs at work without holding onto the railing and without stopping midway to rest. Baby steps (pardon the pun).
The biggest help for me is support from friends and family. My husband comments almost every day that I look great. My coworkers tell me they are proud of me. My sister tells me I inspire her. Even a patient noticed this week that "something is different -- are you losing weight?" These little comments mean so much.
I'm getting the hang of it, and I choose health.
