Amazing, the power of water.

Wednesday, April 06, 2011

Im not a big fan of drinking H2O straight. I always have to have something in it to add flavor. I work night shift and my DH has been out of town all week. Needless to say Ive become very exhausted being a single mom this week to 2 active boys. My morning starts at 10pm, when I clock in for work. This is also when the new day begins for tracking my nutrition. As tired as I was, I did not head straight for the coffee machine, instead I opened a bottle of water and chugged it down. To my amazement I instantly could feel the changes that were taking action in my body with each bottle of water I drank. First, I started feeling awake, 2nd bottle, energetic, 3rd bottle replenished. I ended my 8 hr. shift with 5 bottles of water down, and I also noticed that I didnt consume as many calories as I usually do at work. I didnt even feel hungry.

That was the hardest thing for me - drinking water. I hated it and for the first 46 1/2 years of my life, I NEVER drank water. Now I know better and try to drink it daily. I am always surprised how much "thirstier" I am when I drink it but know that my body is craving it.
