Day 238: Little Losses

This is the second week in a row that I've lost 0.4 pounds. After I got off to such a great start, it is a little disheartening to see the scale inch down, but I know consistency is the key. After all, I've lost 23.2 in just over 6 weeks. That's pretty impressive. And I've been "ready to cycle" for two full weeks, which may affect the scale. I just wish it would start already!

Changes I've noticed:

-My belly no longer rubs against the steering wheel in my car

-It's easier to walk up stairs now

-I don't need the sugary treats every day like I used to think I did

-My back doesn't hurt quite as bad as it used to and I can stand longer before I have to sit down

I've decided to start a gentle, slow walking program and ordered a pair of athletic shoes online last night. Walking is very scary for me because my back sometimes hurts so bad it feels like my legs are paralyzed, but the recent MRI just showed a mild bulging disk. I know walking will actually help me.

So bring on continued little losses! They add up, and the difference I feel already makes it all worthwhile.

I'm a strong woman and I choose health.

    I'm a slow loser, maybe 1 pound a week. It took me 6 months to lose 29 pounds so your doing really great! Just start out slow for walking, 10 minutes at a time. I only do walking for my workout and it's done a lot for my body. I've settled it in my head that this weight loss journey is going to take quite a long while but being consistent is working. Since I've finally gotten serving sizes mastered my stomach gives me hell if I overeat. It's like having a lapband around my stomach!
