This has been a fabulous week. I've challenged myself to ride 20 miles a day on the stationary bike and so far I am well above par. Since last Sunday (3/13/11) my lowest day was 23.2 miles. My highest so far is 24 miles in two sessions. (I ride twice a day.) In my morning session today I rode 14.1 miles. So my challenge for this week is just about a done deal. No. I'm not boasting. So what's my point? Sometimes we need to challenge ourselves just to make sure we're still awake and not just going through the motions. Then of course there's the added bonus of the tremendous feeling of accomplishment you get when those daily challenges are met and surpassed! Come on I know I can't be alone on this one. Doesn't it feel awesome when you know you've just kicked your challenge's butt?? So don't run from a challenge, no matter how difficult it gets. I mean it has to be tough, otherwise it wouldn't be a challenge. It would be a given. So face your challenges head on and forge ahead. In the end you'll be glad you did. LETS DO THIS!!
And remember: You're worth every bit of the effort it takes to reach your goals...AND THEN SOME!!!

    I used to think that I'd never go near a gym or exercise equipment. Now I do 3 strength training sessions and 3 to 5 Zumba sessions per week!

    Just please, NEVER QUIT AGAIN!

    yes it does feel good to accomplish a goal. My goal this week was to get up to 30 mins at a time on my gazelle. I am up to 26 mins., last week was only 20 mins.

    Once I hit my 30 mins my next goal is to up my speed and keep it steady.

    All right, you have inspired me. I am going to challenge myself to be able to run all the way around the block, 1/2 mile by April 4th. I may pass out, I walk over 3 miles a day... but it is at a slow pace... I want to step it up. So I will let you know how it goes! Thanks for the pep talk!

    My challenge to myself: I registered just a few minutes ago for a 5k race on April 30th! Now I have to train for it. I've said more than once that I was going to run a race and I haven't done it yet. Now I am committed!!

    I agree! Chalenge allows me to run 20-40 km (12-25 miles) a week and when it will be warmer I'll try to run at least 40 km a week. Without challenge it wont' be possible to do that. It's one of the puzzles for motivation. Challange, goal, support and fun - all of them helps to move borders, change our lifes in ways, we believed, were impossible for us to reach. BTW that's a lot of bicycling. Keep up the good work!
