Weight GAIN Spiral

I am in a weight gain spiral and I am feeling quite defeated. I am only seven pounds away from where I was when I started Spark People. It's been a slow but steady climb but since becoming unemployed the weight is piling on.

In many ways I know what I'm doing wrong, but I feel like I am fighting a losing battle.

I need to buckle down and get completely back on program. Maybe start a journal. I have to do something.

    You can do it!!! I know the feeling though and today is my day to totally attack the food intake with measuring and weighing.

    This sounds like something I could have written. My suggestion added to all the others is to journal, but also pretend that exercising and healthy eating is your new job. (A little lame I know but I try to use it). Good Luck.

    You can do it and I agree with the others when they say journaling will be good. It will help you explore feelings and write out frustrations. Keep coming to Sparkpeople too, read the articles, use the blog as part of a journal if that helps. I know how hard it is when life seems to be hitting you with a bunch of junk and unhappiness.     Awww, sending hugs! I'm in the same boat. Have a lot of things going on and I just can't get it all straight and back on track. Know that it's ok to step back and recognizing it is the best way to pick yourself up and move forward. We are all here for you! Hang on, together, we can do this!

    You can do this!!! Journaling is very helpful. It is hard when you have a lifestyle change, but you can beat it. I am cheering you on!!! emoticon emoticon emoticon

    Journaling is probably a good idea. It will help you explore feelings as well as keep track of your food intake, etc.

    Keep trying! Some times it is easier to let food make you feel better in the moment. Than to feel bad in the long run. Just remember the happy feeling from food dose not lasted and it is a quick fix. Just take it a day at a time. emoticon emoticon
