I jogged 5 1/2 minutes (and B2W Mission 3 completed)

Still working on the Sparkpeople 5k your way rookie running program. Sort of. Loosely. This week I was supposed to walk 3 min & jog 2 x 5. So I let myself cheat a little. I told myself I had to jog at least 10 min total and each interval had to be at least 2 minutes. It was freaking cold Friday so I actually went to the gym and used the treadmill. (By the way, anyone else feel disoriented getting off one of those things? Feels like the walls are rushing at me. Not a big treadmill fan.) I actually jogged 3/2/FOUR/2. I JOGGED 4 MINUTES ON THE TREADMILL. GO ME. GO ME. Jogging on the treadmill in public. I'm a slow poke, but I did it, and I didn't die. GO ME.
The weather was really nice today so I took my golden out on my walk/jog. When it came time to run I decided I was going to jog "until I reach that barn". It was super tough, but I didn't die. And it turns out it took me 5 1/2 minutes of jogging. I'm getting there.
Normally, I'm really bad about doing one thing, cardio, toning, or yoga, and letting the other 2 completely slide. For my B2W Mission 3 I was supposed to get 2 strength sessions inthis weekend, so I made myself do a couple of short upper body DVD segments. Short, but geez. I was also supposed to get at least 10 minutes of stretching in. So I did that too! Twice! Got some yoga in last night and today. Felt OH SO GOOD. So...mission accomplished. One more time? Yeah. GO ME. GO ME. (Sorry, gotta be my own cheerleader here.)
OH! And I talked to my besty (who, by the way, has really been a fitness inspiration and is sort of the reason I'm trying this jogging thing). I asked her if she'd run in a 5k with me this year. She's been in a few before and I haven't. I think I'm driving to the St. Louis area to do the Komen 5k with her in June or July. Totally psyched. I'm a slow poke, but I'd still LOVE to be able to go for a run with her. Let's see what progress I can make in the next 3 months!
