Today I won the Battle of Banana Bread. Yesterday it beat me. I couldn't throw it away after the Valentine Tea at my Home Extension meeting, so I rewrapped it in the worn out foil I brought it in, and carried it home. I should have given it away, or thrown it away after the meeting, but couldn't or wouldn't, take your choice. Last night I ate several slices with glasses of milk (1%) !! So did that make it a healthy choice? Nooooooooooooooo. I went to bed with a tummy ache.
My "left-over"brain told me first thing this morning to "finish off" the Banana Bread for breakfast and have done with it. My "right-on" brain knew better. I left it in the Tupperware home I had given it, and had a normal, protein rich breakfast. The tug-of-war went on, however, until I finally removed the container from the fridge. I took the lid off and wasn't sure how big a piece to cut, when I began to wonder if the squirrels would like it as much as they did the angel puff cookies from a few weeks ago. (But that was another blog).
So I went to the front door with my container and began to break off pieces and tossed them onto the mounds of snow. An hour later now, it looks like most of the cake is gone. Somewhere there's a party going on, and they're eating without me, and that's a good thing.
My temptation has left the building for the day.
