A WEEK til MARATHON!

I'm getting nervous.

Today I went to my aunt and uncles house. My aunt and I drove the entire marathon route. AHHH! That made me nervous. 26.2 miles is FAR! And, there is a slight HILL, but its at mile 3 and the rest is flat (lucy its nothing like THE HILL, but more than the hump at the turkey trot lol). We found the spot that my aunt will come to cheer me on (at mile 20 - where she will also be giving me ADVIL lol). But most of all, where she will give me the cheerleading/motivating attitude to get me that last 6.2 miles to the finish.

I am so excited (along with my nerves) I know all week I will be in shock that its on SUNDAY. The knee still feels 'off' but my uncle said its because my hip is out. So, ill be seeing him again at his office tomorrow after work. I have all my glucosamine, joint juice and arnica that I will definitely keep up with this entire week. I have no doubt that I will run this, and I do NOT have a time I want to be at (except that I want to be under 6 hours). And the only reason I want THAT is because they dont guarantee post race stuff or a MEDAL if you finish over 6 hours! Not fair. But that will keep me goin because I WANT MY BLING!!!!

My house is SIIICK right now. So, I am popping vitamin c, airborne, and emergen-c like a mad woman. I do NOT need to get sick again!

I plan on picking up my race stuff on friday (day off). They will have the expo friday, saturday and sunday. I dont want to do much on saturday, and I'm thinkin that friday there will be waaaaay less people! There is going to be over 20,000 people! I still cant wrap my head around how HUGE this race is!

What else...

Not much! I'm so 100% focused on marathon day. Sorry friends! Excited for the new month, and am finally in a great eating mindset. Dont want to work at ALL this week but thats nothin new lol. Keep those song ideas coming! I'm LOVING it! I appreciate it.

OH AND, I found out that the marathon will be supplying us at the stations with SHARKIES!!! The same energy chews that I use (SO HA! Lucy and Ricky emoticon) so excited about THAT because I wont worry wondering if I packed enough of my own! They also are going to have PB&J and Lara bars. Perfect. I still am thinkin ill wear my fuel belt. Might as well!

Alright, my wheels are still turning, and will up until the gun goes off i'm sure. Thank you ALL for being my constant support.

    Question - have you taken Advil before during a training run? I'm guessing you have but wanted to check - because it CAN cause stomach upset and the last thing you want during the last 6 miles is to have to stop to use a porta-potty!! Some people it doesn't bother - me it does!! Just a thought??

    How about sharing your bib number so we can 'track' you during the race? I'd LOVE to share your race!! Marilyn in GA

    Don't let the hill psych you out. Maybe put your most motivating music at that point to cheer you on since your aunt will be farther down the line.

    Keeping hand sanitizer handy will help keep you healthy, too!
