Well, I'm back. I've actually been "back" since Jan 3rd, 2011. All I really do on this site now, is weigh in. I also leave encouragement for others and read the comments people leave me. I appreciate those! :) They keep my motivation going.

At first I started measuring my food and counting calories. I have to tell you I HATE THAT! So, I started reading about the Mayo Clinic Diet. Most say it's a fad diet and you can't lose weight with it, however those who say that are WRONG! In the month of January I have lost 9.4 pounds. I have to admit...I haven't done one bit of exercise. Which isn't good, but to give myself a boast, I purchased the workout dvd's TurboFire. It looks like so much fun! They arrived yesterday and I'll be starting them soon (probably tomorrow).

With the Mayo Clinic diet, my diet manly consists of fruits and veggies (not my fav, but I'm getting used to it). I have found a new love for V-8 Splash. It's a drink, yes, but after I finish drinking it, I'm full. Pretty amazing! I love that I can still eat cereal, pasta, and bread...it just has to be whole wheat. Not a problem, that's all I eat anyway. I actually found a pasta that is made out of veggies (it does contain some wheat). It's pretty delicious too! Never would have thought that. Glad I took a chance and tried it.

As far as outside of my diet, most of you may know that in January of 2010 I severely injured my foot. I broke my ankle, broke a bone in my foot, tore a ligament, and I have a torn tendon. Along with the torn tendon, I have adhesions on the tendon sheath. (This all happened from passing out, so I have no idea what really happened. I passed out due to a medication I was on.) At this point surgery is needed, but it's not happening for several reasons. One being my weight and two being there isn't any guarantee that it will solve my problem. I was in an orthopedic boot for 11 months. YES, 11 months. I was able to take it off from time to time but I had to wear sneakers (I hate sneakers, I'm a flip flop kinda gal!), and thankfully I could take it off while showering, unlike the cast I had to wear for 2 weeks. I'm glad to be out of that thing! I'm not steady at all, with the injury, my ankle is very weak. My doc forbid me from wearing high heels, and my beloved flip flops. :( I'm hoping that as I slowly add weight lifting and cardio to my routine, my ankle will strengthen up as well.

I still can't find a job, I graduated in May 2009. This economy is awful and I really hope it turns around VERY SOON (as many of you prob feel the same way). If I don't find a GOOD job soon I'll be returning back to school to get my Masters degree in Mental Health Counseling. I plan to start sometime in the summer or fall. Fingers are crossed that I get a job though. Much rather be making money than taking out loans.
