uggggh. Thats what I have to say right now.

I woke up this morning and I have pain not only in my outer thigh but my knee. Now the knee hurts MORE than the outer thigh. I have a feeling its "runners knee" which has to do with my thigh. That would make sense. But, I'm FREAKING OUT! I cant be injured, I HAVE to run this marathon. Those of you that know me, know ill still run it even if I'm crawling at the end. So its time for more ICE ICE baby. Uggggh!

And, my eating once again is WAY off. I had fast food. And more. Not good! I dont know WHATS going on with me but i have GOT to get it together! (in more ways than one). Ridiculous.

I'm a mess, and now am scared of the marathon!

    I know you're going to get through this. Ice is your friend right now (and maybe a little acupuncture) If you want the name of a really, and I do mean REALLY good acupuncture doctor in Newport Beach, let me know. I've known her for 25 years and she's the best!

    On your eating - give yourself permission to up your calories in a healthy way. Think whey protein smoothies, peanut butter, whole grain pancakes, scrambled eggs that include the yolks. and a multi vitamin wouldn't hurt, either.

    Most of all, I just know you can do this.

    See, Pagona and Lightningrunner agree with me! Sports medicine is a wonderful thing. Massage therapists, physical therapists, chiropractors...whatever your insurance covers, find one fast. They are a wealth of information regarding healing and avoiding future injuries.

    As for your eating, paste a picture of the VS top on the fridge and keep your calculator handy and visible whenever possible. Visual reminders are powerful!

    100 % keep icing, it will help and get a messege too but make sure they don't work on you too, too hard. you only have less then two weeks, start taking it easy

    Try to get a massage - it could me a mis alignment in the hips. Roll out on a foam roller and ice ice ice.

    Yea just RICE it for a few days before trying another run. I can only imagine the worries swirling around in your head right now, but you've already put in the long runs - so even if you only get in a few more miles before the 6th, you will finish that marathon!

    Take a deep breath, take it one day at a time. I would check out the blog "healthytippingpoint.com" she may have some old posts to help! I also had a bad eating day, they happen, we just need to drink water and start clean tomorrow!
