31 Days - Find a Goal Buddy - January 19

Todays tip from Spark is to find a "goal buddy," who shares your goals, because that person will offer greater support and inspiration and accountability.
I think when you come down to it, we all have the same goals. Eat better. Exercise. Live an active lifestyle. So in that regard, we are all goal buddies, though we probably all have our own personalized road to get there. I'm certainly all for the buddy system. I don't know what I ever would do without the support of my marvelous sparkbuddies.
But ultimately, it's all about me, alone, making the right choices, getting myself up to exercise, being responsible for myself. There is only one constant companion in life, and that is ourselves. So I think it's important to be our own best buddies, to be accountable to ourselves, to be our own best motivator. Of course, to be our best buddy, the first thing we have to learn to do is to like ourselves and to trust ourselves. We might need some help with that, and we should get it if we do, from therapists, nutritionists, trainers, doctors, you get the picture..
So my take on this is to look within to find your true goal (and SOUL) buddy and your Spark..get help along the way by chatting it up with your friends and sparkbuddies, by reading stories of people who have had success, but, ultimately, I believe that each of us needs to, going back to my Star Wars analogy: "search your feelings, Luke.."
May the force be with you!
