Be the leading lady...

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

How many of you hear yourself say... I will spend more time on myself as soon as life slows down a bit? I know I do. I am taking small steps to change that. All too often I get up in just enough time to get Leah off to school sacrificing the time I would need to get myself ready to face the day. I read a quote today that made me really think about the effect this really has on my mental well being.

When you perform... you are out of yourself - larger and more potent, more beautiful. You are for minutes heroic. This is the power. This is glory on earth. And it is yours, nightly. ~ Agnes De Mille

Well I don't go out nightly, but would love to feel that power and glory every day. So what if I got up just 30 minutes earlier and gave myself the time to shower, wash up, get dressed and do my hair and make-up? When we feel we look nice we act with more confidence. That 30 minutes of self care to tell yourself every morning that you are a beautiful and worth while person. 30 minutes where I can just focus on myself without having to manage my crazy energetic children. I think these things are worth making the time for.

This week I am going to make the time for me and I challenge each of you to do the same! It won't be easy but it will be worth it!
