31 Days - No One Is Perfect! - December 10

Today's Spark tip is:
"Don't expect perfection. You will mess up, make mistakes, and forget along the way. The key is
persistence and a willingness to learn from your mistakes. Focus on what you have done right instead of dwelling on the negative."
I LOVE this one. It is the single biggest key, in my opinion, to staying the course during the journey. How many of us, and based on what I read, it's fairly universal, believe that "once we've blown it," we have to start all over, and then somehow use that as a license to eat not only what we already have that we didn't need, but also everything else in sight for the rest of the day, week, month...
That's why we somehow have to get the concept of "diet" out of our minds, it truly is NOT a diet, it's a lifestyle, of eating healthy foods, making good choices, getting and staying active. And the journey to adopting that lifestyle is not going to happen overnight, but it is truly the only chance we have to take the weight off (especially if it's a lot of weight) and KEEPING it off.
Most of us accept the concept that we are not perfect in so many facets of our lives, yet, when it comes to this area, it's perfection or bust. Not sure why, except maybe that's some silent sign that we are really not ready for success, but even as I say those words, they seem crazy. We are ready to get healthy, but are we ready to do the work?? Only each of us can answer that question for ourselves.
I'm ready to do the work, and I am not perfect. I will continue to follow the path I've set, towards the goals I've established. It's going to be a long road, and I know there will be good days and bad days, but I'll stay on the road. And I am oh so lucky to be travelling with my Spark buddies..
Have a Sparky day!!
