Long Time No Blog

Thursday, November 18, 2010

I haven't blogged for awhile because, to be honest, I haven't been doing all that well lately. I haven't been getting as much exercise as I was and I have been eating out in restaurants way too much.

Now that colder weather is here I will be cooking and eating at home more and getting more indoor exercise. I need to get to the gym from time to time too. I sure hate paying for something that I am not even using. I am getting back to my Leslie Sansone WATP dvds thanks to Spark friend HYJEAN. We have made a little pact that we will do at least 15 minutes each day. .

I had my 6 month blood work done this morning. Iron may be low again because I have been feeling kind of worn down lately. I am hoping the glucose reading is better this time. The reading in May was a real disappointment. My main motivation for the healthy lifestyle changes was to ward off the diabetes that runs in my family. Both the doc and I think that I will eventually get it but I am hoping that I can postpone it for as long as possible.

Now, the good news is that I have lost another 13 pounds in the past 6 months for a total of 41 pounds in the past year. The exercise, calorie counting and portion control really does pay off in the end.

Oh, and while I was waiting for the doc to get in to see me I jogged in place and ended up with 2,500 steps. Better than sitting on my flabby butt.

ETA Blood results back. Sugar was down 7 points but still not into normal range. Iron is low again, as I suspected.

Well...a little bit of progress...and good job on the weight loss. I really need to pump up the exercise a bit. You have been doing really well with my daily sparkpoints lately...many 10 point days. Today though I coveted the 25 and got 3...that is what comes of coveting, I guess...

Progress. Not perfection. (I just read that on another page). I think this sums it up. I am back in the swing of things after quite a slide. Glad to see you are doing things one step at a time! Keep up your GREAT, INSPIRING, WORK!

Congrats on the 41 pounds! That is super! You are working hard and it shows. Exercise is the key. I cannot lose weight unless I exercise...oh yeah...and duct tape my mouth!

Wonderful news! I'm so glad you are still doing so well - even if you think you are not. Forty-one pounds in less then a year is fabulous.
Thanks so much for the spark goodie. I have not been doing as well as you -- but I plan to get back to it soon. I've gained instead of losing - but I am still 15 lbs. less than I was when I started less then a year ago - and I am thrilled that I weigh less this year then last year. Two steps forward and one step back - but I'm still gaining ground.
Have a wonderful Thanksgiving! I'll keep my fingers crossed that the blood sugar is better this time!

Awesome! I can't believe you jogged in place waiting for the doc. What a great use of time!

He/she must be really impressed with your 41lb weight loss. Most people get no where close to that!

    CONGRATS!
