So I mentioned it before - NaNoWriMo?

Hi Gang -
November has a slightly different challenge for me. It's National Novel Writing Month, a 30-day challenge to write a 50,000 word novel.

Along with the challenge, it is also a fundraiser that helps the supporting organization - The Office of Letters and Lights - raise money and awareness to sustain reading programs and libraries around the world.

I've participated in four previous years, winning (writing 50K words) in three of them. Last year I had to pass, thanks to Graduate School. This year my husband is also participating; his first time!
While I do not intend to ever edit or submit this work for publishing, there are some individuals that make that happen. There's a fella in our local region that has a book that will be released this month, in fact, if the editor wills it. Me, I just like to write. I don't really tell any stories. NaNoWriMo simply gives me the reason and venue to do something that many of us never do.
As you might imagine, it can be fun, exciting and downright daunting to tackle this challenge. Being under the influence of cold drugs certainly doesn't help, LOL! IT does, however, give me something to do until I feel well enough to workout again.
My numbers are a bit behind, but I made up a good chunk of word count today. I'm hoping for the same tomorrow. And that, my SparkFriends, is what I am up to these days!
