Fat chick I'm hot yoga

Thursday, October 21, 2010

Okay so I decided to take on a new challenge and it was hot yoga. My friend Mary is my partner. You know her body type. Stick skinny can eat anything in the world and doesn't workout. Now my body type. I am what we call healthy in shape fat, yes even my doctor has called ne this. I'm the healthiest and most active out of all of my friends always have been. Either way I was still going to be the fat chick in yoga. And hot yoga! This means as little clothes as possible in a room full of people I don't know! The thoughts going through my head. I can't do it. I'm goin to fall. I'm going to fart. I'm going to be the biggest girl there. Day one: yes I was the biggest girl in there, and I have been every class. Lemme say this. Nobody has looked at me funny or like I am out of place. Not a single one. Number two. I have not farted. Though it's normal to do but I've squeezed and held it in. But other people have. Number 3. I can do it! First day was a 65 min class. I sat down and went into the laying pose for probably the last 5-10 min(sorry i don't know the names). The skinny tiny girl I went with made it to maybe 30 minutes before she joined her mat. And having been to subsequent classes. Everybody takes break. Even the gorgeous buff guy pants and lays down like he is going to die. The even toned chicks do it too. Everyone does it! I have to say I am loving yoga. I started with hot yoga because the place by my house is 10 for 10. Great deal! It is amazing! This like internal happy switch has been flipped. And I haven't really lost weight from it. I did an experiment of no cardio just to see, but I can feel. Difference in my clothes. It is amazing and I recommend yoga to anyone. Another reason I would reccomend the hot versus normal yoga to overweight people is because Tia is very calm and quiet and not impacting. But as a larger person there's more sweat and shortness of breath, in hot yoga everyone looks like they have just left a shower and have their pantin moments so it may be more comfortable. Well thats my blog.

It's like you plucked this post from my brain! I felt the same as you! I felt terrible being the "biggest" girl in the class. I went to a 90 minute session (about a month ago) on a Sat morning and there were some "thicker" girls in that class so I felt a little better than my "former cheerleader/model" first class I attended . I know that 60 minutes more comfortible for me and I felt AMAZING after the first time I did hot yoga. It is spendy. I did the 10 for 10 and ended up going 3 times. emoticon
