"Where Water Meets the Soul"

Monday, October 11, 2010

Hi Everyone!

Thanks to today's challenge in the "1 Day Challenge Team" at SparkPeople, I was reminded that it's been a while since I've blogged. I've been spending time getting back on track and preparing for a few new tasks, all of which I'm happy to share with you.

- SCHOOL -
I'm in the last steps of completing my graduation requirements. It's been out of my hands since the end of August, which makes for a bit of anxiety. My husband and I have been waiting for our capstone projects to be formatted, reviewed, approved and submitted for publishing. The last step is to change the project grade from IP (In Progress) to P (Pass), and that should happen any day now!

- WORK -
Still at it and have been told that I've been extended until April, 2011. While I am eager to put my new degree to work, a planned transition is probably a better way to go. I'm still spending some time in my thoughts, trying to figure out "What's Next," so the time will be put to good use.

- PLAY -
I have a few fun 'irons in the fire,' so to say. First, I've been enjoying the Fall Team Challenge at Concept2.com with the Indoor Rowing Team here at SparkPeople. The rowing challenges are a neat way to push ourselves a bit harder and it works! I've crossed my first major milestone - 1 Million Meters! - and am rowing more now than before. The Indoor Rowing Team has been instrumental in motivating me, and I cannot thank them enough!

Next weekend my husband and I are getting away for a much-needed getaway to Bayfield, Wisconsin.

(This is where I 'borrowed' the title for my blog.)
We're looking forward to relaxing and exploring a new place. The weather forecast is very promising and just getting away will be a nice change for oth of us.

What's next? The Skeleton Crew Challenge at Concept2, National Novel Writing Month www.nanowrimo.org/ (which i missed last year due to school), and a new hat that my husband asked me to knit him for the upcoming parade season y2knit.net/index.php?mai

.

I hope that everyone is finding a good balance between what's required and what's fun. It's been fun to see and read about everyone's recent goals and activities. I'm glad that I took the time to return the favor!

Those water-sculpted sea caves look fantastic, are you going to kayak?

Cool hat, it would be the envy of every snowboarder on the piste (when that season arrives)

I like the sound of Bayfield, "where water meets the soul." Hope it's a relaxing time for both of you.

Sounds like you've got some "ducks paddling in a row" now and lots of things to look forward to with anticipation and some anxiety. Love the hat pattern. What parades does your DH participate in? I'm currently with 3 projects on the needles. When will I learn?

And now you've given me another novel writing web site to dink around on in all my spare time! LOL!

Gotta run (not literally) to get on the exercise bike so I can catch up with you!!!!!!

You are definitively achieving balance and I need to work toward that as well.

You have been and continue to be inspiring. :) Trying to get back to the norm here, or maybe I should say the "not so" norm.

Bayfield looks beautiful. Our family recently took a drive up to Lake Geneva, WI and spent the day there walking and exploring. Little Tornado had a blast and she loved walking on the docks and pier. Had to keep her from jumping into the boats! If she could, LT would be hitching a ride with you up to Bayfield! Hell, so would her Mommy & Papa.

    Much love and hugs!
