Frustrated....

Tuesday, August 10, 2010

August started out strong. Set my goals to walk 4 days a week at 45 minutes. First week did it. Second week only got in two days and then my back went out.

It has now been 5 days with no exercise and I am feeling like this will never happen.

I just want to be consistent.

Thanks for the comments. I did get back on the treadmill this morning and felt great. Taking it a little slower. I have a 3 yr old and realized that I can't carry her around anymore(we had gone to a festival over the weekend). I have to realize that it is not all or nothing. I have a tendency if I blow it with either too many calories or don't exercise as I said I would, then I let the whole week get away from me. You are right, it is only the 2nd week and the middle of it, so I still have can keep August going.

You're in luck! This is still the 2nd week of August. I'm sorry your back is out, because that's a definite ow! How about trying to walk for 15 minutes at a time? Maybe even 10 or 5? Although you can't do 45 minutes, maybe shorter periods will still help you with consistency until your back is good again. I've found at times gentle slow walking to be helpful with my back and that may be true for you too. You've probably done some of this already over the past five days as you move about somewhat. Some thoughts to help you see things from a new perspective. =]

It's difficult but you have to keep trying. My back went out for the first time about three weeks ago. It sucked but it made me more bound and determined to do better. Best, E
