Howdy, Disco Citizens!
The last day of school is approaching and I'm really giddy to wrap everything up!
My last homework assignment was submitted yesterday, my requested Capstone revisions were submitted last night and we received the take-home final. The hubster is working on the final today (he's going out of town, so he has to finish his early) and will hopefully give me an idea of how much time needs to be allocated to complete it. I need to make two presentations on the last night of class, too, but that's not a big deal.
It's hard to believe that it's almost over. It's just... amazing.
So, what's next? As I mentioned to AmberNicole on her latest blog entry, I have a few goals for August:
Read something that isn't for a grade
Clean my home thoroughly; grad school left a mess in my living room!
Work on some knitting projects
Get the menu and other details for the celebration finalized!
And keep training for my September bike events
Here's the schedule, adapted from a century ride training plan at About.com:
Week of July 25: 55 total miles, 25 as the longest single ride
(Result: 53 total miles, 21 mile was longest single distance. I need to find a different route!)
Week of August 1: 65 total miles, 30 as the longest single ride
Week of August 8: 73 total miles, 35 as the longest single ride
Week of August 15: 81 total miles, 40 as the longest single ride
Week of August 22: 90 total miles, 45 as the longest single ride
Week of August 29: 99 total miles, 50 as the longest single ride
There are a few more weeks of training in September, but that's a different month! Given the weather so far this month, I may need to cross-train with some indoor activities because I really don't handle the heat very well.
That's it in a nutshell. Thanks to all for the encouragement, especially as school winds down. Your support and enthusiasm means so much to me!
