cardio - sleep = no weight loss + sickness

I've been trying to figure out for a few days why I've been GAINING weight. I was down to 156 from 160 in 3 weeks then in the past week was suddenly back at 160. I've been eating better this week than I had before. With the exception of korean bbq night (I always had some kind of exception every week so that shouldn't be a huge deal..and at least it was somewhat low fat meat instead of carbs !) I stopped eating cheese (my weakness), carbs at night, and upped my workouts to burn twice as many calories as before. I thought muscle could have been turning into fat...but I gained inches too. So i'm stumped. But now I'm starting to feel a little sick...and still have a hint of my knee injury from a few weeks ago.
I'm just gonna not work out today and go to sleep early to try and nip this sickness. I have dance class thursday that i've already paid for so i really want to try to not skip that. It's so hard to get over being sick when you also want to dance every night....
Bright side ! only 2 days and 2 hours more work this week...I think I'll skip my beach workout Friday and just go home and sleep....before dancing at night. no drinking though, haven't done that in 4 weeks =) which is kind of AMAZING for a 21 year old on a LA hip hop team. No alcohol, no cheese, no fried foods, no soda, limited milk tea. I HAVE to be healthier in some way. I just don't believe that I'm not. I just can't wait for the results/numbers (I'm an engineer I need numbers) to prove it.
Ohhhh the frustrations of weight loss. August better be GREAT since July was so tough haha.
I hate that I put on all that weight since I turned 21 (15 lbs) since I had just lost 40. But....I kind of dont regret it too much. good times =) And I'll never turn 21 again so it'll be ok.
