Surprisingly a good trip

Friday, July 16, 2010

Family is a strange thing, you never know what to expect. My family got together for a sort of family reunion; my brother and sister in law from overseas came up for a visit. We have not seen them for over 25 years and most of the siblings decided to come up for a visit. (All warning lights turned on) There were some plans being made for Mom and dad, visiting brother and sister in law and uncle and girlfriend to drive, yes DRIVE 2700 miles to go to Vegas. (Even more warning lights came on, as I know mom and dad would never be able to handle the trip and the heat and I could not talk them out of not going. Thus me really having to go up there. Well I spoke with her Dr. on Thursday (She had an appointment on Friday) and he did put a stop to that side of the insanity although she never did mention to me that her Dr. had spoken with her. Oh well, mission accomplished.

All and all a good trip, fast and furious; my husband did not go up with me and neither did my fuzzy therapist (pup). I stayed at a hotel as I really needed some space for myself to recover from the family gathering. I do not regret staying at the hotel and I am glad I was able to visit with them, all the present siblings were in perfect behavior, no tantrums, no begging for money, no drunkenness. hehehehe talking about drinking, I brought a couple bottles of wine to serve with dinner but mother stopped us at 1 glass per person she kept the other bottles.

Another surprise was that I was able to control my food(quantity and quality) as well as the drinking. My luggage did not fair as well, it got lost for a day on the return flight.

Oh well

More to come on the family visit. A little preview: what does a bicycle, dogs, a can of carburetor cleaner and a 2 cycle lawn mower engine have in common?

Why are the electric fence not stopping the dogs from entering a property?

Why are the trees being flooded on a daily basis dying?

Upward and Onward we go.
